Confirmation Day – Saturday, 25th April
What a truly special and memorable day we shared as our 6th Class students from Timahoe NS received their Confirmation on Saturday, 25th April. The ceremony took place alongside the students of St. Colman’s, Stradbally, and was a celebration of faith, community, and growth.
We were honoured to welcome Bishop Denis Nulty, who conferred the sacrament and delivered a meaningful sermon. He reflected on the thoughtful letters written by the boys and girls, highlighting the importance of making positive choices, including taking the pledge and showing respect for themselves and their bodies.
A sincere thank you to Fr. David Vard, Fr. Frank McEvoy, and Deacon Vincent, who were also present and contributed to the ceremony. The Stradbally choir added so much to the occasion with their wonderful music.
In preparation for the big day, the children visited Stradbally Church three times during the week for practice. Their hard work was rewarded with some well-earned treats—a pizza outing in Stradbally followed by a trip to Patsy’s and the playground on Friday, where they made the most of the sunny weather ahead of Saturday’s ceremony.
We would like to extend a huge thank you to all of our SNAs and to our secretary Anne for their invaluable help and support in preparing for this important milestone.
Well done to all of our 6th Class students—we are so proud of you!
We now look forward to supporting our Communion Class as they prepare for their special day on the 16th May.
