We had a wonderful morning on Friday as the recent county final winners of Park Ratheniska / Timahoe visited the boys and girls with the cup.
The lads beat Camross in the Junior A hurling final at O'Moore Park and we are very proud of their achievements. We also celebrated the boys U13 victory over Mountmellick and we had Aidan, Shane, Ruairi, Aidan Mc, and Darragh representing the school on that team. Well done lads!
Both teams received a guard of honour into the hall where they were met by all the children chanting PRT! PRT!.....There was great excitement as 'We are the champions' was blasted out from the sound system.
Mr Mc Evoy welcomed the lads to the school and congratulated both teams on their success. Then, children from all the classes got to ask questions to the team.
6th class did a quick-fire round of questions with captain Danny Brennan before 3rd class recited a poem they had written for the team during the week.
They finished with a few photos before heading down to the Naíscoil to chat to everyone down there.
It was a lovely celebration and hopefully will inspire the girls and boys to future success.

Hip, hip Hooray to the boys in red, yellow and green.
The Junior County Champions living the dream,
The best team there is in all of Laois,
As the famous Buff would say that is Capiche.
Dagger is the man who had the plan for the game
Camross did their best but they lost what a shame
Lots of goals, lots of points, a win for our team,
The joy from the fans was a beautiful scene.
Fitzy was unreal, he got man of the match,
There wasn’t a sliotar that he didn’t catch,
It was a big team effort from all of our boys.
Hip, Hip, Hooray we are full of the joys.
