6th Class Rugby
Last Friday, 6th Class had the fantastic opportunity to attend a Rugby Tournament in Portlaoise Rugby Club. What a way to round off the Women’s Rugby World Cup!
It was a brilliant day of fun and learning as the children got stuck into Touch Rugby. They threw themselves into the games with great enthusiasm – sidestepping, dodging tackles, and sprinting for the try line with determination and big smiles!
A real highlight of the day was meeting the incredibly talented Rebecca Cahill. Rebecca only recently began playing rugby, yet she has already made a huge impact, being named U18 Six Nations Top Scorer this year! The children were absolutely starstruck and inspired by her achievements and story.
To top it all off, everyone went home with goodie bags, Leinster flags, and plenty of excitement for what’s to come. We’re already looking forward to a block of Rugby Coaching after Christmas, where we’ll get to build on the skills we learned at the tournament.
It was a day full of sport, inspiration, and fun – well done to all the children who took part! 🏉💙
